About Elder Care Alliance
Assisted Living Communities
Located in the Bay Area and Ventura County, Elder Care Alliance has served seniors and their families in California for more than 25 years. Their history can be traced back to the 1907 opening of Mercy Retirement and Care Center in Oakland, founded by the Sisters of Mercy. Being one of California’s premier senior living providers and non-profit organizations, Elder Care Alliance’s mission of providing care rooted in holistic wellness for older adults and those who care for them informs the work they do every day. Their five communities in Northern and Southern California offer independent living, comprehensive assisted living, and specialized Alzheimer’s and dementia care residence options and services.

Challenges
While respecting a legacy organization and its heritage, Spring Digital was engaged to create a new digital front door, establish a core marketing foundation, conduct a brand refresh and update brand positioning. Successful completion of these areas, lead to becoming the primary marketing partner for Elder Care Alliance.
Coalescing a fragmented group of individual communities into a united brand with a focused goal presented a challenge, since multiple stakeholders and voices can hinder progress in advancing solutions. However, the Elder Care Alliance leadership demonstrated astuteness in their commitment to the process and the Spring Digital team.
Solutions
The Spring Digital engagement with Elder Care Alliance has been varied and extensive over the years. For this Case Study, however, we will focus on aspects of Elder Care Alliance’s branding and design refresh. The Spring Digital team developed design guidelines, revised colors, logo and font sets as well as guidelines for their proper applications. By creating these key elements and defining the brand messages and unique positions, we were able to develop creative assets. This critical step further guided the design process of the website and created a foundation for all of Elder Care Alliance’s marketing, sales, and corporate materials.
The development of Elder Care Alliance’s design portfolio has been a significant endeavor. The process has provided for a full unification of the parent brand with each of the five communities as individual entities under the same “roof”. From traditional design work that included signage, van wraps, uniforms, brochures, business cards, sales booklets to digital design such as graphics and templates for social media, ads, sales decks, email templates, and PowerPoint presentations, no aspect has been overlooked.
